It’s been written that the top five most stressful life events are:
You don’t have to check a box from the list of five when you live every day with something that seems to cause you stress.
Stress causes physical changes that range from headaches, tense muscles, disease and seizure disorders. Being late for an appointment, waiting on a long line, stuck in bumper to bumper traffic or any number of “little things” that aren’t going your way can cause the mind to stress out, the body to react. It's a medical fact that on-going stress from our thoughts DO affect the body.
What tools do you know about to combat stress? Do you use them? Are you the type of person who needs to be hit over the head with an illness because you didn’t “have time” to sit quietly for a minutes, to journal thoughts/feelings, listen to music, or any number of things that relieves the mind of heavy thoughts?
This is not the first time you’ll hear “we have to take care of ourselves before we can take care of others”. Just 3 to 5 minutes for yourself will do the trick. Time one minute. You’ll find it’s a very long time. Take one minute out of your day for yourself. Do it three times a day and see what a difference in makes. Let me know!
